OF VIDEO TRAINING

Structural firefighting is dangerous. Firefighters must perform physically challenging work in a dynamic and hazardous environment. One of the hazards presented by structure fires is rapid fire development. Each year firefighters loose their lives after being caught by rapidly deteriorating conditions inside burning buildings. It is essential the firefighters be capable of recognizing the signs indicating potential for rapid fire development and be proficient in the tactical operations required to mitigate these hazards.

AN AGE OLD DEBATE ASKS:

“What is the best way to extinguish a fire when conducting an aggressive, structural fire attack?”

You are bidding on probably the most comprehensive training video out there; a great training video that is ideal for group training, or Individual trainees who can easily review this at home or in the station house.

Developing expertise in structural firefighting requires an understanding of the process and dynamics of fire development and firefighting experience in a realistic environment. In the United States it is common for the topics of fire behavior, ventilation, fire streams, and tactical operations to be addressed separately. In Sweden, Compartment Fire Behavior Training was developed to provide an improved understanding of the interrelated nature of fire behavior and tactical operations. Since that time fire departments in the UK, Australia, the US and other countries have adopted these training methods to improve firefighter safety.

This DVD is designed to provide firefighters with practice in basic firefighting skills. Utilizing Video and 3-D fire training, the firefighter will learn to perform both direct and indirect methods of attack.

Nozzle theory will be discussed and demonstrated and you will be introduced to methods of hose handling as well.

Fireground safety procedures are detailed and followed throughout the session.

DID YOU KNOW

More lives have been saved by properly positioned and operating handlines than any other fireground action.

Using REAL fire footage from actual fires, in my video I will discuss:

The safe and effective movement of the handline team into the fire area;

Coordinating the attack with the ventilation team;

The methods for keeping the handline moving, with an emphasis on inter-company communication.

Size up, know where the fire is going, and how you are going to push it out and away from any potential victims.

Communication with Ventilation Teams

Identify the important considerations in stretching attack hand lines

Horizontal versus vertical stretches and loads,

estimating accurate hose lengths - based on the building, stair configurations

How to affect the stretch, as well as common stretching pitfalls and how to avoid them.

My DVD Video also outlines the various techniques and procedures for effectively deploying and operating the attack hand line.

The video also describes :
the nozzle team, the role of each member of the team, the techniques for advancing the "line,"
